DOS MUJERES.- TWO WOMAN

Las dos mujeres tomaron la misma decisión. Buscar refugio en Holanda ante la expansión nazi. Las dos habían sido madres en 1929 de dos niñas, Ella en mayo y Edith en junio. Había que proteger a sus criaturas y hay que decir que las dos madres consiguieron protegerlas lo suficiente para que acabaran siendo inmortales, aunque sus destinos fueron muy distintos.

Nunca olvidó aquella ayuda y por eso se volcó con Unicef en su momento. Cuando Audrey murió, Elizabeth Taylor dijo que Dios estaría contento de tener a su lado a un ángel como ella. La joyería Tiffanys, le dedicó además su escaparate. Si vais a Nueva York y vais por la quinta avenida, no dejéis de homenajearla desayunando allí. Sin duda lo merece.

Con él, Anna pudo evadirse de la trágica situación que a la familia le sobrevino cuando a la hermana mayor la citaron en las oficinas de las S.S, hecho que les obligó a esconderse en una vivienda improvisada en la parte de atrás de la fábrica del padre. Con su diario nos legó un impresionante relato de lo que fue su vida durante este encierro de 25 meses, encierro que termino con la detención de toda la familia, y la muerte de esta niña en Bergen Belsen por tifus, a un mes escaso de que este campo fuera liberado. Lo bueno quizá del relato es que lo hace una cría, con la capacidad de adaptación y supervivencia de los niños. Hoy estaba deprimida porque no tenía libros y a la mañana siguiente estaba eufórica pensando en el paseo en bici que iba a dar en cuanto la liberasen. Precioso.

Anna era fanática del cine, como atestiguan las fotos de las estrellas del momento que decoran su habitación en la casa de atrás, casa que recomiendo que visitéis. Os impresionará. Nunca pudo ver una película de Audrey. Audrey sin embargo si pudo leer el diario de Anna.-Lo leí y me destruyó. Nunca he vuelto a ser la misma- dijo y es que para ella no era una lectura, era revivir lo vivido por ella misma.

Cogió el sobre con los 600 dólares del lujoso cuarto de baño de la habitación de aquel hotel y se dispuso a acudir a su siguiente cita en el Belaggio. Otros 600 le esperaban por otra hora de sus servicios. Llegaba incluso a cobrar 6000 por un día entero, pero en realidad el dinero no le importaba. La historia de Kelly y Suzy me encanta por el hecho de que son la misma persona. Suzy Favor es el nombre real de la atleta olímpica estadounidense que quedó marcada por ese fracaso en la competición a pesar de los múltiples éxitos anteriores. Cuando aquello ocurrió se sintió tan frustrada, avergonzada y arrepentida que entró en una fase que se entendió como depresiva y por la que se vio obligada a recibir tratamiento. Sin embargo ese tratamiento exacerbó su verdadero problema mental oculto hasta entonces, la bipolaridad, y por eso se extremaron sus momentos maniacos eufóricos surgiendo como efecto secundario un apetito sexual quizá desmesurado. Nació así Kelly, la escort de Las Vegas, alter ego de Suzie, la atleta que prefirió vivir una locura que la entusiasmaba a una realidad que la abatía; puede que simplemente como un mecanismo de defensa de su mente ante dicha realidad. En todo caso, lucho contra sus demonios y decidió vivir con intensidad y sobrepasar los límites. "Lo menos frecuente en este mundo es vivir, la mayoría de la gente existe", dijo Oscar Wilde. Eso no es aplicable a Suzie y por eso tiene mis respetos. Os recomiendo que profundicéis en su historia y que saquéis vuestras conclusiones.

I love the story of Kelly and Suzy by the fact that they are the same person. Suzy Favor is the real name of an american olympic athlete who was marked by that failure in the competition despite multiple previous successes. When that happened she felt so frustrated, ashamed and repentant that he entered in a phase that was understood to be depressive because she was forced to receive treatment. However the treatment exacerbated her true mental problema, hidden until then, bipolarity, and that has increased its manic or moments of euphoria, emerging as a secundary effect an intense sexual appetite.
