El plazo se alargó un poco más de la cuenta, se propusieron más canciones de los tres previstos como suele pasar cuando te pones a buscar, pero por fin, este sábado pasado nos pudimos reunir.

- No lo había pensado pero es cierto- siguió Rafa - y esa reflexión me viene muy bien, aunque en el sentido contrario, para el siguiente tema de Deep Purple. El de Barcelona de 2013 equivalente al del vídeo en Roma: ¿te acuerdas Pepe del fin de semana de Barcelona?.- Perfectamente- dije yo- fue un viernes de junio , perdimos por 1 minuto el AVE y después de llegar a la estación, búsqueda del hotel pensión con encanto y llegada a Montjuich en taxi cuando ya había sonado la primera canción. Nos tuvimos que poner atrás pero disfrutamos a tope del espectáculo de luz, sonido, color, imágenes.. -Casi mejor que si nos hubiéramos puesto delante-dijo ella. -Pues sí, - admití- La verdad es que el fin de semana fue perfecto. Concierto, paseos por la ciudad, comida en la playa con amigos..-

Después de Nuria me tocaba a mí. Ante la espectacularidad de Muse no pude por menos de empezar por los que me parecía habían sido la inspiración de estos en cuanto a sus directos. Empecé por ahí:
- Hace aproximadamente 20 años PINK FLOYD sacó el LP directo PULSE. En el tema que voy a recomendar, "Confortably Numb" ("cómodamente adormecido"), original de 1979 para el disco "The Wall", hay una cosa muy llamativa. Frente a otros conciertos en los que la gente está hiperactiva, saltando, cantando, etc, en este la gente está deslumbrada y casi no se mueve. Pero no como en el de Deep Purple de Rafa, en el que da la sensación que han llenado la grada con gente que no sabe ni a que viene, sino que aquí están alucinando, es como si estuvieran viendo el aterrizaje de un ovni o algo así. No quieren perderse nada de lo que está pasando. Para mí es una pasada.
- El solo de guitarra es buenísimo- continué. . Para muchos es considerado el mejor de Gilmour con Pink Floyd y de los mejores de la historia para revistas especializadas como "Guitar World"

No tengo claro el año concreto pero creo que en el mismo 1990. Lo que sí tengo claro es que la guitarra fue hecha para sonar así.

There are several versions, but which I heard I prefer one that sounded in the 90s in Montreux (Switzerland) in its jazz festival. I am not clear the particular year but I think in the same 1990. What I do know is that the guitar was made to sound this way.
Para finalizar me iría al rock sureño de BLACK CROWES y su "Thorn in my Pride". El tema es muy bueno en sí mismo pero además le añaden un sólo de armónica y banjo en la parte central impresionante. La voz de Chris Robinson junto con los coros de voces "negras" también son para destacar. Los directos encontrados no se oyen especialmente bien así que incorporo la versión en estudio.
Finally I would go to southern rock BLACK CROWES and "Thorn in my Pride". The theme is very good in itself but also adds a harmonica and banjo impressives. Chris Robinson's voice along with the chorus of "black" voices are also to highlight. Live performances i found have problems of sound. I bring studio version.

Además, ya que la anterior no era en directo, traigo el grandísimo "Sultans of Swing" en la versión "Alchemy" de los británicos DIRE STRAITS, banda emblemática de Mark Knopfler. En esta canción de finales de los 70, se narra la historia de un grupo que toca en un pequeño pub con un público escaso pero entregado, quizá la propia historia de este grupo, a la larga uno de los grandes pero que empezaron pasando apuros (apuros o estrecheces económicas es el significado aproximado de la expresión DIRE STRAITS en castellano).

Se citó a Rainbow, Made in Japan de Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynird, The Who y Magic Bus, Status Quo, Dream Theater y sus conciertos de más de tres horas con temas improvisados insertos (*) o incluso el "101" de Depeche Mode, o el de Simple Minds en París en "In the City of Light". Ya se irán incorporando en futuras ediciones. En la lista de spotify incluyo algunos de ellos.
And thus ended the party, between Christmas greetings and good wishes for the new year. Logically they were many songs in the pipeline. Rainbow, Made in Japan´s Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynird, The Who and their Magic Bus, Status Quo, Dream Theater with their shows that last more than three hours with impromptus included or even "101" from Depeche Mode or Simple Minds in Paris, in the city of light.
