Seguimos con nuestra conversación sobre la música de Judas, aunque Nuria nos había abandonado para unirse a uno de los grupos de conversación en inglés. De Judas le interesó mucho la parte de los juicios, como hemos visto en la anterior entrega, pero desde el punto de vista musical, le resultaba algo demasiado fuerte. Dejó que Carmen  la introdujera en un grupo y en seguida se integró. Siempre me dio envidia su dominio del inglés.
We continue our conversation about the music of Judas, although Nuria had left us to join one of the groups of English conversation. Les había ido bien, ¿por qué cambiar?

Ante el acuerdo generalizado seguimos analizando el disco:

A partir de ahí, empezamos a hablar de asuntos como la salida de la banda de Halford, que se embarcó en proyectos personales como Fight, etc, También de los discos no excesivamente exitosos que, tras unos años de parón, Judas sacó con el nuevo vocalista Tim Owens, Jugulator y Demolition. En la mesa se criticó duramente al nuevo cantante, sobretodo por parte de Ian (después de todo Halford era su paisano). Yo no creo que el poco éxito fuera achacable a Owens. Tenía una papeleta difícil y la solventó más que dignamente.
From there, we start talking about issues such the leaving of Halford, who embarked on personal projects like Fight, etc, not overly successful albums that, after years of hiatus, Judas took with new vocalist Tim Owens, Jugulator and Demolition. - Menos mal que después volvió Halford- dijó Ian centrado en la cuestión del cantante. Estando de acuerdo con él, no pude por menos que recordarle la salida tan elegante que tuvo el americano, basándome en una entrevista que por aquellos ya lejanos días leí en la que afirmó que estar con los Priest había sido un sueño hecho realidad y que hasta él, como fanático del grupo, veía bien que se unieran de nuevo con Rob. De esa reunión salió "Angel of Retribution" en 2005. Buenas ventas y buenas críticas. A mí no me parece maravilloso, aunque en mi caso, como en el de Rafa, en el caso de Judas Priest, me quedo con la época de los 70 y quizá hasta Turbo de los 80.  Aún así,  siempre hay temas destacables:
- Good thing that Halford returned- said Ian focused on the question of the singer. Para mí, el lp conceptual Nostradamus es mucho mejor. Más elaborado y profundo, absorbiendo nuevas tendencias como las de los grupos nórdicos de gran éxito en últimos años, pero conservando la esencia de las potentes guitarras trashs y su principal activo, la voz de Halford. Además me gustan estos álbumes en los que el tema es único , canción tras canción, en este caso la vida del profeta Michel de Notredame, Nostradamus, médico, astrólogo y matemático del siglo XVI.

En el propio tema "Prophecy" que recomiendo, fijaos en el ritmo que imprimen las guitarras "arrastradas" y el solo primero rasgado de una con acompañamiento de otra para fusionarse finalmente en un único final melódico. Muy bueno. 


For me, the conceptual Nostradamus lp is much better. More elaborate and deep, absorbing new trends such as the Nordic group of great success in recent years, while retaining the essence of the powerful trashs guitars and its main asset, Halford's voice. Also I like these albums where the theme is unique, song after song, in this case the life of prophet Michel de Notredame, Nostradamus, physician, astrologer and mathematician of the sixteenth century.

On the subject itself "Prophecy" I recommend, look at the guitars rhythm, "pulled"guitars and a just tearing solo and finally two guitars merged into a single melodic end. Very good.

Y aquí nos percatamos de no haber destacado anteriormente "Dissident Agressor" de 1977, tema por que les dieron el grammy en 2010, por la interpretación en vivo incluida en "A Touch of Evil: Live". Aquí incluimos la versión en vivo moderna pero recomiendo la clásica:

Ya en 2014, "Redeemer of Souls". Buenas críticas. Continuista con el sonido anterior a Nostradamus, menos oscuro que éste. Punto álgido "Dragonaut" con gran calidad como siempre de Halford, menos potente que antes en los agudos pero con gran cantidad de matices en los graves. Parte central de guitarras portentosas, a pesar de la ausencia de Downing, con cambios de ritmo de batería muy reseñables.
Already in 2014, "Redeemer of Souls". Good result. Continuity with the sound before Nostradamus, less dark than this. Peak "Dragonaut" with great quality as always Halford, less powerful than before in acute but with lots of nuances in the bass. Central part of portentous guitars, despite the absence of Downing, with rhythm changes very notable battery.

- Han logrado un equilibrio bueno entre las dos guitarras-dijo Rafa.-No parecía fácil tras la salida de Downing- siguió. 

- Es que Richard Faulkner es muy bueno, también.- dijo Carlos, -Además aporta frescura, y sabe aceptar un cierto rol subordinado a Tipton- El resultado es verdad que es muy equilibrado. Por eso resaltaría también "Cold Blooded" y "Hell&Back".

Tarde de trabajo y a la salida habíamos quedado para tomar unas cervezas. El bar como siempre el Monpassa, en las dos mesas junto a la ventana. No había ningún tema definido de rock para hablar. De hecho no había ningún planteamiento más allá del de vernos, tomarnos esas cervezas Alhambra que nos gustaban y, no excesivamente tarde, volver a casa.

Me sorprendió lo lleno que estaba el bar, pero me explicaron que habían empezado a reunir a gente para practicar idiomas. En este caso, gente angloparlante que iba, hablaba ingles con gente española que quería perfeccionar sus conocimientos y, a la inversa aprovechaban para mejorar su castellano. Lo iban a hacer también con el francés y con el alemán, pero sería en las próximas semanas.

Vino Rafa, ya estábamos los demás, salvo Nuria,  y llegaron las cervezas. Cuando nos las estaban sirviendo, Carmen, recordad la propietaria, nos dijo que empezábamos con suerte porque esta primera ronda estaba pagada. - ¿y eso..?-dije yo. - Paga aquel señor que está sentado en la barra.-contestó- Ha venido últimamente varias veces. Es inglés, trabaja para una empresa que le ha destinado aquí unos meses porque habla un poco de español. Quiere aprovechar para mejorarlo, y ya de paso, supongo conocer gente con quién llenar su tiempo libre. - Pero por la invitación, dadle también las gracias a Carlos - continuó- No se muy bien por qué, pero la invitación tiene que ver con la camiseta que lleva.

Rafa came, we were all there, except Nuria and the beers came. When we were serving, the owner, Carmen, remember,  said to us that we began lucky because this these beers were paid. - Why? .. - I said. - Pay the gentleman who sits on the bar.-replied- lately he has come here several times. He is English, he works for a company that has spent here a few months because he speaks some Spanish. He wants to improve it, and  I suppose meet people who fill their free time. - But for the invitation, give also thanks to Carlos - continued. I´m not sure why, but the invitation has to do with the shirt he wears.

Lógicamente invitamos al inglés a que se uniera a nosotros. Cuando se sentó, nos dijo en un español bastante correcto que se llamaba Ian, que era oriundo de West Bromwich, cerca de Birmingham, ciudad cuna de la revolución industrial en Inglaterra. Era por tanto paisano de JUDAS PRIEST. De su mismo pueblo era K.K.Downing , uno de los guitarristas, un tipo, nos contó, con una infancia y adolescencia conflictiva, con bastantes problemas en casa, que abandonó pronto los estudios, pero que como tenía un interés brutal por la música acabó de manera autodidacta aprendiendo a tocar. Rob Halford, el cantante, y Glenn Tipton el otro guitarrista eran también de la misma zona. Nos contó además que el nombre fue sacado de un tema de Bob Dylan, "The ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest" y ya de pasó, presumió con orgullo de que Birmingham podría ser considerada como la cuna del Heavy Metal, dado que no sólo es la localidad de los mencionados, sino también la de los pioneros en el género BLACK SABBATH , banda integrada por los también nacidos en esa zona Ozzy Osbourne y Tony Iommy. Aprovechando esto, Rafa comentó que, según la leyenda, Iommy es el inventor del sonido metal en la guitarra, ya que dado que perdió parte de los dedos en un accidente laboral, para poder tocar tuvo que experimentar con las cuerdas y con la configuración del instrumento para que se adaptase a sus prótesis. Así logró el sonido característico de la guitarra de heavy metal. Ian nos comentó que, aunque sigue en activo, se encuentra luchando contra un cáncer. Los mejores deseos para este monstruo de la guitarra.

Pero nuestro tema era JUDAS PRIEST, Rafa se fue a la parte antigua. De RockaRolla, el disco debut, destacó "Run of the Mill" aunque lo más recordado del disco sea la carátula con la chapa de CocaCola, diseñada por la misma persona que diseñó la archiconocida lengua de los Rolling Stones. Se mencionaron además grandes temas que luego incorporaré del LP de 1976 "Sad Wings of Destiny", época en la que se consolidó el sonido del grupo, con influencia de citados Black Sabbath. Posiblemente sea el LP mejor de Judas y se debe destacar junto a los coetáneos "Rising" de RAINBOW o "Virgin Killer" de SCORPIONS como fundamentales en la evolución del género. Es curioso que ante la falta de medios, debieron financiárselo buscándose trabajos esporádicos. Para mí lo mejor de este disco, es "Dreamer Deceiver" que ha de ser escuchada única e inseparablemente de "Deceiver". Clara influencia de mis idolatrados Deep Purple y voz imponente de Halford con sus agudos imposibles. Como cantante verdaderamente uno de los grandes y entiendo que para muchos sea el que más. 

But our subject was JUDAS PRIEST, Rafa went to the old part. Punto importante fue 1978 y "Stained Class". Gran disco con temazos como "Exciter" o "Invader". Pero por desgracia el LP pasará a la historia por motivos trágicos, concretamente por el intento de suicidio de dos jóvenes supuestamente incitados por los mensajes subliminales del tema anteriomente citado "Exciter" y el "Better than you, better than me". Pero, aunque dejo aquí los temas, volveremos a esta cuestión más tarde porque se generó un debate muy interesante entre los miembros de la mesa.

Siguiendo con el asunto de la estética. Ian nos comento si nos habíamos percatado del cambio en la indumentaria de los grupos a fines de los 70. Se pasó de la estética "hippie" de los Purple, Zeppelin, etc, a los cueros, pinchos, parches, pantalones ajustados y botas altas. Una estética muy unida a la de los moteros e incluso a los movimientos sadomasoquistas. Pues bien, esta evolución la provocaron en gran medida Judas Priest y en particular Rob Halford. Fue seguida por Iron Maiden en la persona de su primer vocalista DiAnno, por Scorpions, y al otro lado del charco por  unos exitosos Kiss y el Glam o Hair Metal posterior y se convirtió en la seña de identidad de este estilo de música hasta el cambio de los 90, con el grunge.

Volvimos a la música y citamos nuevos temas. Pedimos nuevas cervezas y recibimos a la bella Nuria, que venía de hacer unas compras y que se mostró encantada con la idea de los intercambios de idiomas. De Judas Priest no había oído mucho, pero le pareció interesante la historia de Ian. Seguimos con la música y surgieron temas del LP del 80, "British Steel", del "Killing Machine" ("Hell Bent for Leather" en USA) y del "Screaming For Vengeance", disco de 1982 grabado en España (Ibiza) y uno de los más exitosos, que incorporó un tema, inicialmente descartado,pero que posteriormente se convirtió en uno de los grandes himnos de la banda, "You´ve got another thing coming". A mi el que siempre me ha parecido buenísimo es "Prisoner of Your Eyes", un tema que se incorporó al disco en una reedición posterior.

A mediados de los 80 tenemos los LP "Defenders of the Faith" y "Turbo". El primero incorporó "The Sentinel", uno de los mejores temas de siempre. El segundo añadió el sonido sintetizador a la banda, siguiendo la tendencia de la época de grupos AOR y HAIR.. Además del tema machacado en las emisoras "Turbo" hay otros grandes como "Locked In", "Out in the Cold" o "Private Property", De nuevo la voz irreal de Halford se impone en una época convulsa para los miembros del grupo. Ingreso en una clínica de desintoxicación de Halford y atropello a la salida de un local nocturno de Downing. 
De la época, Ian destacó el cover Johnny B.Goode de "Ram it Down". Buenísimo:

Y en 1990 el juicio por los suicidios (uno intentado y otro consumado) relacionados con el LP "Stained Class". Contemos un poco la historia.  Fue en 1985, antes de navidad en Reno (Nevada), Dos jovenes fans de Judas Priest, de 19 y 20 años,  influenciados por las letras de sus temas, según la versión de sus familias, decidieron pegarse un tiro y suicidarse. Uno de ellos lo consiguió. El otro quedó tremendamente desfigurado aunque sobrevivió. Las familias decidieron demandar al grupo por incitar al suicidio mediante el mensaje subliminal "do it" incluido en "Better than you, better than me" (un tema nada destacable para mí). El juicio tuvo de todo, fans de Judas en la puerta apoyando a sus ídolos, Rob Halford cantando en el estrado, audición de los temas de Judas al derecho y al revés buscando la frase que supuestamente desencadenó todo, etc. La defensa sin embargo sacó a colación los problemas personales y familiares que los jóvenes tenían, argumentando con lógica que fueron mucho más importantes a la hora de incitar al suicidio. El juez falló a favor del grupo aunque después de todo el proceso hubo una indemnización económica a las familias que abonó la discográfica. El joven superviviente, con gravísimas secuelas que arruinaron su vida, acabó  falleciendo por una sobredosis de medicamentos unos años más tarde. Para quien le interese, hay un documental en internet sobre el caso aunque advierto que es bastante duro.

It was in 1985, before Christmas in Reno (Nevada) Two young fans of Judas Priest, 19 and 20 years, influenced by the lyrics of their songs, depending on the version of their families, decided to shoot himself and committing suicide. One of them got it. The other was terribly disfigured but survived. The families decided to sue the group for inciting suicide by the subliminal message "do it" in "Better than you, better than me" (one unremarkable issue for me). The trial took everything, fans of Judas in the door supporting their idols, Rob Halford singing on stage, court hearing songs Judas forwards and backwards looking for the phrase that supposedly triggered everything, etc. But the defense brought up the personal and family problems that young people were arguing with logic that were much more important in inciting suicide. The judge ruled in favor of the group even after the whole process, there was an economic compensation to the families who paid the record company. The young survivor, with catastrophic effects in him face that ruined his life, eventually dying of a drug medicaments  overdose a few years later. For those interested, there is an internet documentary on the case but i warn them it's pretty hard.

Este comentario fue de general aceptación entre los presentes. Yo de hecho opinaba exactamente lo mismo. Rafa incluso comentó que ya le parecía llamativo que se hubiera aceptado la demanda y que el grupo hubiera tenido que acudir a juicio. Pero en esto que intervino Nuria, y he de reconocer que me hizo matizar mis ideas y no se si las del resto:

- Yo era muy joven cuando el boom del grunge, y he de reconocer que la actitud ante la vida de ese movimiento me afectó- comenzó. - Dejé de cuidarme tanto como antes, empecé a estudiar menos, descontrolaba más en las salidas etc. Una amiga mía, la más brillante de la clase, se hizo gótica y su caso fue peor, porque incluyó un tonteo con las drogas que fue a más y acabó con muchas de sus expectativas de futuro, aunque afortunadamente se recuperó y retomó el rumbo. Lo que nos hizo a las dos salir de los problemas fue la educación, los valores, etc que nos habían inculcado nuestras familias y nuestro propio proceso de maduración, que pudo más que todos los supuestos estímulos negativos que recibimos de nuestros ídolos. Los artistas, por una parte, tiene derecho a transmitir lo que quieran, faltaría más, pero han de tener una cierta responsabilidad, digamos social, por los mensajes que transmiten, máxime cuando van dirigidos a personas en muchos casos sin una personalidad formada. Por eso, vería bien que junto a los mensajes de advertencia incluidos en los discos  actualmente, se incluyeran otros dejando claro que los mensajes incluidos son simplemente parte de una obra artística y como tal deben entenderse. A lo mejor deberían incluirse también filtros en internet para que menores no pudieran acceder a según que música sin consentimiento paterno como ocurre con el porno, no se.-

Maybe filters should also be included on the internet for young people , to avoid access without parental consent as occurs with porn, i don´t know.-

Es un tema interesante. ¿debería catalogarse la música como las películas, para adultos, todos los públicos, etc? ¿debería limitarse la venta o el acceso a determinada música a menores? ¿que se hace con los contenidos de internet? Ahí lo dejo para vuestras reflexiones.

GOLD BALLADS!

El día había sido duro para Nuria. Reunión complicada, reprimenda del jefe a su departamento por unos objetivos incumplidos, problemas informáticos, ...día para olvidar. -por lo menos, lo mejor que tienen estos días malos es que duran lo mismo que los días buenos- pensaba- y éste ya había terminado. Decidió volver a casa andando en lugar de coger el metro como solía hacer. Era éste uno de los objetivos que se había planteado éste nuevo año. Hacer algo de ejercicio físico cada día, aunque fuera poco. Los días que no le tocara ir al gimnasio, iría o volvería andando a casa y de paso subiría las escaleras hasta su apartamento en el sexto. No es que ella lo necesitara, porque tenía una genética envidiable que le permitía comer a su antojo sin engordar, pero esto en definitiva es como todo, nos gusta estar mejor en la medida que podamos.

The day had been hard to Nuria. El día había sido frío y lluvioso, y estos días en Madrid en el fondo nos afectan algo anímicamente. Supongo que en Londres están acostumbrados, pero aquí nos deprimen un poco y Nuría no era una excepción. Sacó su ipod y comenzó a caminar por Santa Engracia en dirección a Cuatro Caminos. Seleccionó una carpeta que había preparado siguiendo las sugerencias de sus amigos. La había llamado "Gold Ballads". El nombre desde luego no era original. De hecho había un disco de Scorpions con el mismo nombre, pero reflejaba a la perfección lo que la carpeta contenía. Grandes joyas de rock lento. Variadas, como los gustos de quienes las habían sugerido. Algunas tiernas y melosas, otras sentidas y desgarradas, unas de amor, muchas de desamor, otras de denuncia social,..En todo caso eran ideales para olvidarse del día que había pasado.

El primer tema que sonó era "The Unforgiven" de Metallica. Para Pepe era nada más y nada menos que el mejor tema de Metallica en toda su historia y aunque a ella le gustaba más otra lenta, "Nothing Else Matters" aquella le parecía impresionante. En ella se mezcla a la perfección una sencilla y dulce melodía acústica de guitarra, basada quizá en el estilo de melodías de western del genial Ennio Morricone, con una base tenue de profunda guitarra trash que va "in crescendo" hasta la parte del solo para posteriormente ir cediendo terreno a la dulce melodía acústica de nuevo al final. Si se añade la voz de Hetfield, el resultado no puede ser menos que excepcional.
The first theme was sounded "The Unforgiven" by Metallica. Pepe was nothing more and nothing less than the best song of Metallica in its history and although she liked most other slow, "Nothing Else Matters" that seemed impressive. El siguiente tema en caer fue "Soldier of Fortune" de Deep Purple, sugerida por Rafa. Fue escrita por Coverdale y Blackmore para el LP de 1974 Stormbringer. Guitarra acústica con la base de teclado tan característica de la banda y una suave batería y bajo de acompañamiento. Parte de la letra dice "vivo esperando el día en que pueda coger tu mano y cantarte canciones que quizá conozcas, pero creo que me estoy haciendo viejo y las canciones que canto no son más que un eco en la distancia, como el sonido del giro de un molino de viento". Preciosa. Ideal para combinar con algunas otras de la época como "Stairway to Heaven" o "Since a I`ve been loving you" de Led Zeppelin, "Riders on the

Storm" de The Doors,"Cortez the Killer" de Neil Young, "Dream On" de Aerosmith, "When a Blind Man Cries" de los propios Purple o "Catch the Rainbow" de sus hermanos Rainbow, o también, hablando de Coverdale, pero ya en su época de Whitesnake, la versión de un antiguo tema de blues llamado "Ain´t no love in the heart of the city". Acabó escuchando ésta junto a la maravillosa "holiday", lenta de unos todavía jóvenes Scorpions (1979).

The next tune to listen was "Soldier of Fortune" by Deep Purple, suggested by Rafa. It was written by Coverdale and Blackmore for the 1974 LP Stormbringer. Acoustic guitar with keyboard dock so characteristic of the band and smooth bass and drum accompaniment.  "Nice. Ideal for combining with some other of the time like "Stairway to Heaven" or "Since I`ve Been to loving you" by Led Zeppelin, "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors, "Cortez the Killer" by Neil Young, "Dream on "by Aerosmith," When a Blind Man Cries "of the Purple own or" Catch the Rainbow "from his brothers Rainbow, or also, speaking of Coverdale, but in their time of Whitesnake, version of an old theme blues called "Ain't no love in the heart of the city". He finished listening to it with the wonderful "holiday" slow song by young still Scorpions (1979).

Deleitándose con estos temas clásicos, recordó como en la tertulia con sus amigos, Rafa había comentado que este tipo de grupos, junto a otros como Boston, Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon, Journey o Toto generaron el llamado movimiento AOR (Album Oriented Rock en su acepción fundamental, tal y como fue denominado en las estaciones de rock americanas de los 70). Básicamente, rock con teclados protagonistas, guitarras melódicas, voces cuidadas y apasionadas. Posteriormente se unieron bandas que lo evolucionaron hasta casi fusionarlo con el pop. Es el caso de Simple Minds, Asia, Supertramp...

Scorpions. -No diga balada diga Scorpions- había dicho Carlos, y era verdad. Los alemanes están especializados. "Still loving you" y "Wind of changes" las ha oido todo el mundo. Todas las emisoras generalistas las ponen y acaban perdiendo su esencia y su capacidad de emocionarnos. Por eso se decantó por otras más desconocidas pero igual de buenas justo en el momento en que empezaba a llover. "Lorelei",  canción de desamor en la que alguien que ha entregado su corazón ve como no es correspondido, "Lorelei, que clase de loco fui, que creí en cada palabra que dijiste y ahora me pregunto por qué" dice el cantante, o  "SLY" (Still Loving You?) en la que se habla de una chica nacida en el verano del 85, una chica que cuando nació hizo que el sol brillara como nunca y que creció para convertirse en la luz de su vida para el cantante, y que sin embargo cuando partió para vivir su vida hizo que una parte de aquel muriera. Le parecía una oda preciosa de amor paternal. También le encantaba la de "Woman"y otras clásicas como "When the Smoke is Going Down".

En la conversación sobre este tipo de canciones con sus compañeros, se había comentado que Scorpions generó un estilo de hacer baladas muy exitoso y muy seguido en los 80. Por eso es muy conveniente mezclar sus temas con los de otros grupos como Def Leppard con "Hysteria", "Rocket", "Two Steps Behind"o "When Love&Hate Collide" por ejemplo, Warrant con "Heaven" o los suecos Europe con "Carrie" o "Tomorrow". Ella siguió con Poison y "Every Rose has its Thorn" ( "supongo que cada rosa tiene su espina como cada noche tiene su amanecer" dice el estribillo) y Tesla con "Love Song".

In conversation about these songs with colleagues, they had commented that Scorpions created a very successful style of ballads very followed in 80´s. So it is very convenient to mix these songs with other bands`s songs like Def Leppard "Hysteria "," Rocket "," Two Steps Behind "or" When Love & Hate Collide ",  Warrant with" Heaven "or swedish guys Europe with" Carrie "or" Tomorrow ". She followed with Poison and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" ("I guess every rose has its thorn like every night has its dawn" goes the refrain) and Tesla with "Love Song".

Algo diferentes fueron las de Bon Jovi, más rockeras y con toques country (las de finales de los 80, luego ya Bon Jovi cambió su estilo), marcando la evolución hasta las más contundentes de Guns´n´Roses y posteriormente a las depresivas del grunge de los 90 de Alice in Chains, Soundgarden o Nirvana. De los de John Bongiovi, destacar "Wanted Dead or Alive" y la guitarra acústica y eléctrica de Richie Sambora, aunque hay muchas más:

Something different was the Bon Jovi´s ballads, rockers and a little bit countries (after latest 80s BJ changes it style), marking the evolution to the strongest of Guns'n'Roses and then to the depressives 90s grunge´s songs. From John Bongiovi´s band, highlight "Wanted Dead or Alive" and  Richie Sambora`s guitar. There are many more:

Cuando empezó a sonar Guns ´n´Roses y "November Rain", ya empezaba a enfilar Bravo Murillo en dirección a Plaza de Castilla . Había dejado de llover, lo cual era una pena porque la canción pedía lluvia aunque no fuera Noviembre. La historia del vídeo es un poco extraña aunque parece ser que hay dos hombres, Axl y Slash, que aman a la misma mujer, personaje interpretado por la bellísima modelo Stephanie Seymour, por entonces novia de Axl Rose en la vida real. La chica muere, y para expresar su dolor Slash genera uno de los mejores solos de guitarra de la historia del rock subido encima de un piano. Son dos minutos gloriosos en los que el arreglo orquestal y los coros dan base a una guitarra a la que le duele y sufre el pesar de quien la toca.  Nuria estaba cada vez más convencida de que Carlos tenía razón:.- Puede que no te guste el rock, pero tienes que escuchar al menos los dos minutos finales de "November Rain".

When rang Guns'n'Roses and "November Rain", was beginning to face Bravo Murillo towards Plaza de Castilla. It had stopped raining, which was a shame because the song seems to call rain. The story of the video is a little strange but it seems that there are two men, Axl and Slash, who love the same woman, played by the beautiful model Stephanie Seymour, then Axl Rose girlfriend in real life. The girl dies, and to express their grief Slash generates one of the best guitar solos in rock history climbed atop a piano. They are two glorious minutes in which the orchestral arrangement and choruses give a guitar based on the hurts and suffers the pain of who plays it. Nuria was increasingly convinced that Carlos was right: .- You may not like the rock, but you have to listen at least the final two minutes of "November Rain".

       
G´n´R.- November Rain

Ya iba llegando a casa, echo un vistazo a la pantalla del ipod y vio que de G´n´R le quedaban "Sweet Child of Mine" y "Don´t Cry". Tambien "Patience". Muy buenas. Pero entonces le llamo la atención una que había conocido hacia poco de un grupo excesivamente ruidoso, pero al que sus compañeros de tertulia auguraban muy buen futuro, versatilidad y calidad,mucha contundencia. Eran los californianos Avenged Sevenfold con los llamativos nombres artísticos de sus miembros (Zach Vengeance, Sinister Gates o el desaparecido batería The Rev..).

She was just coming home, She glanced at the screen ipod and saw that she had left G'n'R "Sweet Child of Mine" and "Don`t Cry". Also "Patience". Very good. But then caught the attention one that was known to some excessively noisy group, but her fellow-together augured very good future, versatility and quality, very forcefully. Avenged Sevenfold from Californian with striking stage names of its members (Zach Vengeance, Sinister Gates and the late drummer The Rev ..).

No hubo tiempo para mucho mas. Reparo en un tema de los escoceses Gun (cuyo líder, Mark Rankin es primo de la cantante de Texas, Sharleen Spiteri), en otro de los finlandeses "Sonata Arctica" (gran vocalista Tony Kakko), Nickelback y "I´d come for you" y los peculiares System of a Down del libanés de origen armenio Serj Tankian y "Lost in Hollywood" (esta le parecía una delicia) . Escucharía al menos parte mientras abría el portal, miraba el buzón y subía en el ascensor (lo de subir andando lo dejaría para otro día). Picaría algo y pronto a la cama. Antes de dormir escucharía "Zero" de "Circus Maximus" (le encantaba) -Puede haber días malos pero todos tienen al menos algo bueno- era un lema que tenía impreso en un cojín (en ingles que es más corto). Mañana será mejor, pensó mientras abría la puerta de casa.

The song:" Lost in Hollywood "(this seemed a treat for Nuria). She would hear at least part while opening the portal, the mailbox and use the elevator (she would leave uploading walk for another day). She would eat something and early to bed. Before sleeping she would listen "Zero" de "Circus Maximus" (she loves it) -You can have bad days but all of them have at least something good- it was a slogan that was printed on a cushion. Tomorrow will be better, she thought as she opened the front door.
