"Uncertain is the place where death awaits you; wait for it, everywhere"
Seneca
It was a Tuesday when Robert Paul, as every day, was on his way to work. He works early in the morning and was forced to walk the deserted streets of London's East End at such odd hours. It was late, so he was looking at the clock and its inexorable advance while walking as fast as he could. It was then when taking the street Buck´s Row, he saw a lump on the ground. He came and saw an unconscious woman. -Another drunk prostitute!. -He thought as he approached.
When he came to help her, one man, another worker who was headed to his post went out of a dark alley and came to be interested. Robert asked him to help him move the body, to remove it from the street, but the unknown man wisely told him: - better not move her, let´s search the police - It seemed a good idea to Robert, and went to find any agent.
Paul never knew it, but he just met Jack the Ripper and he had not caught him killing him victim for a few minutes.
And it is that we were in August 1888 in the place in which the prostitute Polly Nichols was murdered. According to the latest investigations, while the criminal was his grisly work, he heard steps, was forced to interrupt its task, covered the remains of the body with the own clothes of the victim and since he could not escape without being seen chose to hide in a corner and when the pedestrian, Robert Paul approached, he turned to approach too pretending to be interested. Obviously wanted to avoid moving the body, because he didn't want Paul see how it was after he slashed her. When he saw in a newspaper how Paul talk about him in an interview, he had enough cold blood to approaching police, identified as the witness Charles Allen Cross.

It is now in the 21st century when one has been able to analyze just such Cross. Carter from a store of meat with night work and with clear signs of psychopathy. All the crimes occurred in areas very close to his journey to work and the hours in which did. His work was used to seeing gutting animals and spotting of blood. It is not known for certain that Cross was Jack the Ripper, but if anyone had come to investigate properly, he would have been the prime suspect. But the fact is that he was never tried and died of old man in the town where he was born, surrounded by grandchildren. There wasn´t justice for the victims.
