EL SEUDÓNIMO.- THE PSEUDONYM

"Tri'umph, my Britain, thou hast one to show. To whom all scenes of Europe homage owe.
He was not of an age but for all time!
And all the Muses still were in their prime, When, like Apollo, he came forth to warm
Our ears, or like a Mercury to charm!
Nature herself was proud of his designs and joy'd to wear the dressing of his lines, which were so
richly spun, and woven so fit, as, since, she will vouchsafe no other wit.

Ben Jonson. Elegy to W. Shakespeare.

You could say that Christopher had seen it all, and still he wasn´t 30 years old. Humble origins, playboy, opportunist, adventurer .. and while he was studying at Cambridge had traveled to France and was workes for the queen as a secret agent. His problem is that he lived to the limit and never refused a good brawl  and for that he had created many enemies, and although he was accustomed to legal problems, it had never been so serious as he have to watch right now. He had been accused of treason against the queen, blasphemy, and even sexual misconduct and that was nice very punished in England.

Escribir.
But Christopher had an ace in his sleeve. And it was also a major sponsor at court, accumulated enough information to many people involved, and these reports were prepared for safekeeping arise if something happened to him. That was his pass, and his enemies knew. So they negotiated with him and sought a satisfactory solution. They simulate his death and they would leave England. Thus end up their problems outside of England could start a new life, devoting himself to what at bottom he liked. To write.

And that's how began their exile. He toured France, went to Spain and stayed in Italy as homeland  adoption. He loved its people, its customs, its language, its climate. its food, ..and he failed prevent all these experiences were reflected in his works, immortal works, not abut of all time, because his talent was not of an age but for all as once praised Ben Jonson. Armed with more than 29000 words, arguably reached the confines of language, which until then had not done that since it could not be repeated.

What is worse to Christopher? May not be able to sign their works. Remember that he was officially dead. Fortunately, his protector in England had sought the ideal man to sign his works . He was the son of a glove maker with unequal fortune, with legal troubles, who had been forced to accept the deal, a deal which saw the success of the time, never repented. That pact wiped out Christopher Marlowe, born possibly the most important figure in world literature, William Shakespeare.

And this is one of the theories that I like of which there are about the authorship of Shakespeare's plays. I am not saying it's true, but those who defend it, considered strange that someone with almost no studies as the bard, not travels also known, which is not retained any writing, write those works. All this however fit with the figure of Marlowe, with many more studies and life skills. It is also strange that being of the same age, at age 29 and Marlowe had a wide literary and Shakespeare was unprecedented and that it works appeared just after the supposed death of him. It's like William, inspiration will arise suddenly from Marlowe's death.

Let´s deep in these theories, they are curious ..

Some music to finish. Have a nice week!

EL RAYO VERDE- THE GREEN FLASH

(Julio Verne.- El Rayo Verde).

-Good morning Uncle Sam- she said.- Good morning, dear daughter.-How's it going, Uncle Sib?- Great.- Helena- said Sam, - we have to agree with you on something that interests you.-¿Agree with me? what is it that you have contrived, uncles -? Asked Helena Campbell, looking at them.I think you know a young man named Aristobulos Ursiclos ...Yes, I know him-¿Do you dislike him?Why would I dislike him, Uncle Sam?- So do you like him?- Why would I like him, Uncle Sib?

'Well, my brother and I after several reflections have thought to recommend him as a husband.- Marry?  Me -? Helena Campbell said, bursting into laughter, which echoed in the four walls of the hall- Do not you want to marry? Sam asked-. -but.. never? Sib said.-Never, never before I have seen ...-What? -they exclaimed .- Until I've seen the green flash.

 (Julius Verne.- The Green Flash)

This story of Jules Verne was inspired by an ancient legend of the Scottish Highlands. If a person is able to see that lightning, last gleam of the sun after sunset, never go wrong in matters of the heart. It is very difficult to see this weather phenomenon, because it needs special atmospheric conditions and a very good place to see it. On account of Verne, the main character Helena Campbell, in love with the the legends of his country, Rob Roy and Diana Vernon, Flora McIvor, Robert Bruce and William Wallace, refuses to marry until seeing the lightning, because it will help her to choose her ideal companion. Searching it, she will begin numerous adventures across Scotland, embarking on it her  two uncles. They only want to see her married with the candidate they have chosen for her.
Leaving aside the legendand the tale, the green flash is not a myth; it exists and there are some photos on the internet. I don´t know if all are true, but there are some spectacular one.

There are people that it seems to have met this wonderful Green flash. Let me introduce you to two couples:

The first one is formed by Ian and Larissa Murphy. This couple, like many others, met in college. They decided almost immediately to marry  but, fatally, one day, going to work, a part-time which meant paid wedding, Ian suffered a car accident that left severe and permanent brain damage . Larissa immediately moved to live with him in his parents' house. When after much care and effort, they got to communicate minimally, and they decided to go ahead with the marriage. Given the state of Ian, they had to seek permission from the judge who granted it saying.. "You exemplify the total love I think your marriage will benefit not only to you but to the whole community.  I hope everyone in the city to see what which is the love of others."

The second is formed by photographer Angelo Merendino and his wife Jennifer who was diagnosed with an incurable breast cancer. Given the irreversibility of the problem, they wanted to enjoy to the maximum of what they left together. They photographed his best moments, being also portrayed the terrible ravages of the disease. In these photographs can be seen that, although the disease was getting forward, in no case it could end up with either the love nor the optimism of the couple. The report, which was to be a family keepsake for Angelo, became a viral phenomenon when at the request of Jennifer, was published on internet. Shortly after she died.

A sentence attributed to Tim Robbins says something like current superheroes are people without any superpower. Larissa and Angelo are examples. This people, as the green ray, are very difficult to find. I think they themselves are the green flash.

I leave you with some music as always:

About people who listen to Rock and Heavy Metal.. is it true that they are smarter?

This list of songs may have sense after reading the little story that goes after. Maybe not, we'll see...

The other day I was returning to the Monpassa, you already know, the cafeteria and bookstore located in the barrio de las Letras in Madrid, which I tend to go. The place was more busy lately, I suppose it was benefiting from the flow of people coming to visit the convent of the Trinitarian in which it had been found the remains of Cervantes. The media phenomenon had taken effect and a good number of tourists, following the indications of their pocket guides, had just been wandering around the narrow streets and Little slopes looking for a place to sit and take something refreshing. It was the best they could do after receiving a good bathroom of that sun friendly that we have in May in Madrid. This is probably the best month to enjoy this city.

Arrive in time, and after greeting the owners Patxi and Carmen and order my first beer Alhambra, i started by looking at the shelves for  something to read. There were books and magazines of all kinds, and I decided on one that in my youth or childhood almost, I always liked it. My father bought it and we enjoyed. It was called and it is called MUY INTERESANTE (very interesting) and many of its articles really were interesting and I saw this characteristic remains.

In that magazine in its day I discovered for example that they were studying in cars incorporate a kind of air bag in the steering wheel which amortiguase the driver hit, come on, the airbag that today nowadays take for granted in all cars, also all would bear a few mini-computers in your pocket that also would be phones, or for example that something called internet would allow us to be all connected around the world and may even make the purchase or pay taxes without leaving home. Also voting in elections, no ballot boxes, ballot papers or electoral colleges, and even though this last has not been fulfilled, we will see it safe.

- ¡Esa revista me encantaba!- dijo Rafa. Levanté a la vista y a ahí estaba, como siempre espigado y algo destartalado, supongo que como todos nosotros (bueno Nuria, no..) ;
I loved that magazine!-said Rafa. I got up to the view and there it was, as always slender and somewhat scruffy, I guess in the same way of all of us (well Nuria, no...)

- I, too, but the truth is that I didn't even know that continue to exist, - i said

-Well, I, a few years ago, discovered by it that people who loves metal music were very smart guys - added Smiley, and while he told me, was a gesture to Carlos, who was in the bar, to order to Carmen one couple of beers more.

- ¿ah, si?, -  pregunté
Really? I Asked him

Yes, it is. According to a study of an American university or something like that, people who listen to alternative music, rock or heavy are more intelligent than the rest. They had analyzed a group of bright students musical tastes and the majority of them preferred our style of music. The myth as well who love the genre are violent, depressive, uneducated and dark beings was dismantling that way,  to highlight that we are some bright guys.

-What you are bright?... Nooo! Carlos said.  he had just arrived and really did not know that we were talking about. -Here the only bright is Nuri! Look at that beautiful girl!. She smiled more than accustomed to compliments in general and to those of Carlos in particular.

Once all seated and put on record the conversation, we started a kind of debate on the credibility of this supposed relationship between music and intelligence. Carlos pulled out his ipad and consulted the news to see more data:

- The sample was made between more than 1000 kids between 13 and 18 years with high intellectual capacities . Most of them preferred the rock such as music and used it as an instrument to relieve tension. In addition to the above, an objective measurement of intelligence to people who preferred this type of music was made and the results were superior to the average, especially as regards the capacity for abstraction. The study was done by the University of Warwick, in the United Kingdom (Ahi Rafa realized his error to impute the study at an American university) and presented his results at the 18th Annual Conference of the Association for Psychological Science-.

-What is the capacity for abstraction? .- Nuria asked

Nobody was very clear and after the online search of Carlos, I think that either we understood it at all, so perhaps unconsciously we refute the theory that we were very clever. Apparently, it is a capacity that allows you to extract the information that we receive from a particular fact the main part, ultimately logical and mathematical diagrams. That allows us to link it with other facts different in its configuration, but equal in their rational fundaments. In this way you can set diagrams that relate both phenomena. If you do not understand it is that you are neither heavies, that is, clever.

After these explanations, and with our "superbrains" tired, we decided that as we liked the results of the study we would not think more about it.

I kept thinking about in the release tension. This happens to me with this music. I come home after a horrible day at work, with traffic or whatever, I feel, or better I lie in bed with the lights off put my headphones and while I find much better. It might seem that the best to relax would be to listen to Chill Out, the sound of the sea or things, but at least I, I prefer the stimulus that the rock provides me. It is perhaps similar to the feeling that it gives you a good session of physical exercise after a hard day's work of office or study. It is not exactly the same but similar. It liberates you, relaxes you and rests you.

And apparently, listening to music at high volume makes the inner ear to trigger a stimulus so that the brain release endorphins and produce pleasurable sensations. That is what makes for example with me the relationship of subjects above I've linked. It is a sample, it could be many more. It goes with the days.

¡Espero que os gusten!
I hope you enjoy them!
