También era el París del modernismo, o del Art Nouveau como queráis..de ese arte joven, nuevo, libre y moderno, con estética inspirada en la naturaleza y materiales industriales como el hierro o el cristal, totalmente rupturista con lo anterior. También era la época del positivismo, la ciencia lo explicaba todo, y por eso fue tiempo de desarrollo de los inventos que marcaron el siglo XX, la aviación, el automóvil, el cine, la radio, ...

Por otra parte también se desarrollaba el concepto de ocio, con el crecimiento económico y la reducción de las jornadas laborales. Fue en definitiva la Belle Epoque, como posteriormente se recordó, y hacedme caso, merecía la pena estar en París en aquella época, compartiendo cafés en Montmartre o veladas nocturnas en los Folies Bergere, Chat Noir o Moulin Rouge con los Verne, Zola, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Oscar Wilde, el joven Picasso... Verdaderamente, París era la ciudad de la luz, el centro del mundo y todo lo francés era el colmo del refinamiento y lo moderno.

Pero mientras todo esto sucedía, en un pequeño taller de los suburbios el joven Louis trabajaba incansablemente. Ese pequeño taller lo había empezado a construir el mismo unos años antes en un pequeño cobertizo de la casa familiar. Siempre se sintió cómodo entre herramientas, tornillos y tuercas y es que era un apasionado de la mecánica Tenía 21 años y con el poco dinero que le habían pagado en el servicio militar, había comprado un viejo triciclo de Dion que intentaba con sus conocimientos modificar. Consiguió añadirle una rueda más y una transmisión y consiguió un automóvil de tres velocidades y marcha atrás. Estaba eufórico. Había conseguido construirse su propio automóvil en una época en la que tener uno estaba al alcance de muy pocos. Su primer impulso fue mostrar su hazaña a su familia y amigos, pero se lo pensó mejor..
But while all this was happening, in a small workshop in the suburbs the young Louis worked tirelessly. This small workshop was built a few years earlier in a small shed of the family home. He always felt comfortable among tools, nuts and bolts because he was passionate about mechanics, he was 21 years old and with the little money that he had obtained in military service, he had bought an old tricycle Dion trying to with their knowledge to modify. He managed to add one more wheel and a transmission and got a car of three speeds and reverse. He was euphoric. He had managed to build his own car in a time in which to have one was very difficult. Llegó la fiesta de nochebuena. Los invitados de Alfred, el padre de Louis, iban llegando, Ya estaban también sus hijos Marcel, Fernand, las chicas..sólo faltaba Louis como siempre, ..estaría en su taller y habría que ir a buscarle..
Arrived Christmas Eve party. Guests of Alfred, father of Louis, arrived, as they were also his children Marcel, Fernand, girls... only was missing Louis as always,... He would be in his workshop and would have to go to look for it...
Pero no hizo falta, Louis llegó montado en el flamante y moderno automóvil construido por él mismo. Inmediatamente se convirtió en el centro de atención de la velada. Todos lo probaron y todos quedaron sorprendidos. A diferencia de los otros coches de la época, el suyo subía perfectamente colinas, tenía una muy buena velocidad en llano y además era bastante silencioso, sin cadenas resonantes ni cinturones batientes. Impresionó tanto a los amigos de su padre que enseguida recibió el encargó de construir 24 coches más. Ni siquiera en sus mejores sueños Louis Renault, nombre completo del joven, hubiera podido pensar lo que acababa de nacer en su pequeño taller.
But it wasn´t neccesary. Louis arrived in his brand-new and modern automobile built by himself. He immediately became the center of attention of the party. Unlike other cars of the era, his vehicle perfectly climbing hills, had a very good speed in plain and was also quite silent, without resonant strings. He impressed both friends of his father who immediately received the commissioned to build 24 more cars. Even in their wildest dreams Louis Renault would have thought what had just been born in his small workshop. It was simply the beginning of his own empire.
En cuanto a la música de esta semana, empezaremos por el descomunal Kashmir de Led Zeppelin, en una actuación en la que al fallecido John Bonham, le sustituye su hijo Jason. Seguimos con los inventores del metal Black Sabbath y su End of The Beginning, poderosos riffs de guitarra de Iommy. Seguiremos con el mejor Bon Jovi, el de los 80, con su mejor tema, Wanted Dead or Alive. Después Nirvana y su versión del tema de Bowie, The Man Who Sold The World. Fijaos en su batería porque en el último de los vídeos que propongo, Foo Fighters y The Pretender, lo veréis años más tarde pasar de las baquetas y pasar a ser guitarra y vocalista.
Para finalizar recomendaré dos temas más. Fortress de Alter Bridge y la versión del tema de Metallica Dyer´s Eve hecha por Revocation. No hay videos oficiales y por eso no los cuelgo aquí pero hay versiones en YouTube. Merece la pena escucharlos. Los dejo también en la lista de Spotify.
